Caped Crusader Bags Another Weekend at the Top

Posted by thelanetrain on July 28, 2008

It should be no surprise that thanks to this weekend’s so-so new releases, The Dark Knight remained at the top of the box office.  It raked in over $75 million and almost became the highest grossing summer movie this season.  By the time this post is completed, there is no doubt in my mind it will be, but as of now, Iron Man still holds that title.  Step Brothers, the Will Ferrell and John C. Reiley comedy, debuted at the #2 slot, taking in half of The Dark Knight‘s gross.  Rounding out the top five were Mamma Mia!, The X Files: I Want To Believe, and Journey to the Center of the Earth.
