Guess What’s Cheaper

Posted by thelanetrain on July 1, 2008

One of these is cheaper by the gallon in New York State.  Can you guess which one it is?

After The Jump: The shocking answer

The price of milk in New York State recently increased by 72 cents to hit $4.30 a gallon.

The price of regular gasoline on average in New York State is $4.29 and a half cents a gallon.

So…surprise!  They’re both the same, although gas is ever so slightly cheaper.

This is probably why we aren’t making milk-powered cars.

UPDATE 11:29am: After skimming the AAA site again, I found that it absolutely doesn’t pay to own a Hummer in Alaska.  They are currently the only place in the nation where gas over $5 a gallon exists, although California isn’t far behind.
